Tracking the Trace 02

This study extends the exploration of spatial perception by examining how viewpoint and movement interact within a larger environment. Using color gradients overlayed on both the floor plan and the perspective drawing, it maps the shifting position and visual field of a person walking around a square space.

The gradient on the floor plan traces the path of movement, with color indicating position and direction. The same gradient is mirrored in the perspective drawing, aligning each point in space with the corresponding visual experience.

Through this mapping, the study demonstrates how architectural drawings can visualize both spatial and perceptual dimensions of movement, transforming static representation into a temporal and experiential record of how space is encountered and understood through motion.
