Tracking the Trace 03
This study investigates how perception shifts when movement centers around an object rather than through an enclosed space. A color gradient is applied to both the floor plan and the perspective drawing to trace the viewer’s position while walking around a sculpture.
The gradient marks the path of movement and orientation in relation to the sculpture, while its reflection in the perspective drawing captures the corresponding changes in viewpoint. Together, the two drawings create a dialogue between spatial position and visual experience, illustrating how proximity, angle, and distance influence perception.
By translating movement into visual form, the study highlights how architectural drawing techniques can communicate the temporal and experiential qualities of observing a static subject through motion.
